THE POWER OF PINK

Pink I like to wear pink, but not because society is telling me to like pink. In fact I like pink despite being told I should like pink because I am a girl. Pink is fabulous! My favorite combination to wear with pink is my middle finger, from my nicely manicured pink nails. Not to forget my pink lipstick, any shade of pink will do. I like my lips to be dressed up when I tell the patriarchy to fuck off. My pink ‘go to’ shoes are my pair of baby pink Converse or my hot pink patent leather heels. I choose my shoes based on how I feel. Pink Converse shoes for when I feel more chill as I walk all over society’s inappropriate expectations of me. I wear my pink heels for when I want the big assholes with their tiny egos to look up at me while I speak down to them. I inform them how I just made being assertive look good. They hate me, and I don’t give a flying pink fuck. When I had court, I wore my pink cardigan. The pink fooled them into thinking I was easy prey, or maybe that was just their misogyny? They didn’t see it coming, how fierce I am. Now they know pink is ferocious. I make my clothes special to be clear about who I am. I want them to beware when they stare at me. They better not think I owe them something. My Wildly Unstable Women shirts are stitched in wrath and made from the fabric of fuck you. My shirts are built screaming with rage, and I think the pink shirts are more strident and fearless, just like me. Call me “unstable,” and I have a pink shirt that says “fuck you.” Call me “defiant” like it’s disparaging, and I have a shirt with bold, bright, hot pink words declaring I am proudly DEFIANT! The predators didn’t appreciate my voice, not even when I was more temperate. Well, ok, I need a moment to self-reflect. I just now felt very disturbed using the term “temperate,” ick. Who am I kidding? I prefer unrestrained. The point is, now, my voice extends to my attire. I love being a woman, I love saying “fuck you,” especially to those misogynists who should fuck off, and I love kicking their ass while doing it in head-to-toe pink!
